What we assess and why people come to us
We complete cognitive assessments using the WAIS-IV (adults) and WISC-V (children), neuropsychological screening with the NEPSY-II, diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorder and ADHD, and comprehensive learning assessments where literacy or numeracy difficulties are suspected. Most clients come to us because a question has emerged — about school performance, NDIS eligibility, workplace accommodations, or an unanswered diagnostic question from earlier in life.
How an assessment runs
Each assessment begins with a clinical interview to understand what brought you in and what you want the assessment to clarify. Testing then runs across one to several sessions, with breaks scheduled so fatigue does not affect results. We score and interpret, write a comprehensive report, and book a feedback session to walk through findings, answer questions, and agree on recommendations.
Reports written for the people who use them
A psychological assessment report is only useful if its recommendations can be acted on. Our reports are written in clear, jargon-free language for the people who actually need them — parents, teachers, schools, NDIS planners, employers, and (when appropriate) the person assessed. Where technical scores are required, they are explained.
- Cognitive assessments — WAIS-IV, WISC-V, NEPSY-II
- Autism spectrum diagnostic assessments — ADOS-2 informed
- ADHD diagnostic assessments — DIVA, behavioural rating scales
- Learning assessments — reading, written expression, mathematics
- Giftedness identification and twice-exceptional assessment
Assessments and the NDIS
Assessment reports are frequently used to support NDIS access requests and plan reviews. Where the question is NDIS-specific, we structure the report to address the eligibility criteria directly and recommend supports written against NDIS line items.
