Coastal residential

Bushland Beach. Salt air is the enemy.

Out on the northern beaches the coastal air does the damage. Corrosion on terminals, earths and trailer plugs is the underlying cause of a lot of faults here, and boat trailers spend their lives being reversed into salt water.

Why Bushland Beach is different

The work round here.

Corrosion is usually the real fault

Intermittent lights, a trailer plug that works sometimes, a slow crank — often it is a corroded earth or terminal rather than the component people assume has failed. We chase the cause, not the symptom.

Boat trailer wiring, done for salt

Submersible LED lighting, sealed connectors, properly protected runs. Cheap trailer wiring fails fast up here, and it usually fails at the ramp on a Saturday.

Dual battery setups for fishing

Sounders, live-wells, radios and fridges all draw off the same system. Sized and fused properly so the boat still starts after a day sitting at anchor.

Worth knowing

On-site or in the workshop?

Some jobs are better done where the vehicle is, and some are better brought to us. Gear that cannot move, fleet work and bigger jobs are the ones that suit a visit; a single small job — a battery, a globe, one connector — is usually sorted faster at the workshop. Ring us with what you have got and we will tell you honestly which way works out better.

On the ground

Bushland Beach in our words.

The northern beaches jobs almost always trace back to salt — corroded connections, trailer lights that have given up, marine wiring that was never rated for it, and marine and deep cycle batteries that corrode from the terminals in. Doing it once with the right connectors lasts.

FAQ

Bushland Beach questions.

Why do my trailer lights keep failing?+
Salt water. Standard trailer lighting and connectors are not built to be reversed into the ocean, so corrosion works into the terminations. Submersible LED units and sealed connectors cost more up front and last years longer.
Do you do boat wiring as well as trailers?+
Yes — nav lighting, sounders, live-wells, radios, dual battery and charging. Marine-grade cable and properly sealed terminations, because anything else fails out here.
Can corrosion damage be repaired, or does it need replacing?+
Depends how far it has travelled. Surface corrosion on a terminal cleans up. Once it has wicked up inside the cable the copper is gone and that section needs replacing — we will show you which one you have got.
